Shopp 1.3 is rapidly approaching public beta phase and it will be great to start getting more feedback (and bug reports!) on what has been a sizeable re-engineering project.
The biggest changes in many ways lie below the surface – Jon has done a fantastic job there – and I would encourage any third party devs with Shopp-related themes or plugins to head on over to GitHub and checkout the latest code from the master branch so they can re-organize their code ready for 1.3′s launch.
I’m pleased to say that one of my own plugins – Shopp SEO Glue – has already been updated and a 1.3-compatible version will be released in step with Shopp itself, so users of Yoast’s popular WordPress SEO plugin need not dispair!
A bunch of code from another of my plugins (direct image mode from Shopp Image Tools) is also going to be baked into Shopp itself: this can provide a significant speed boost for merchants who are already using the file system to store images. Shopp Image Tools itself will continue to exist as a migration tool to move across images from the database to the file system.
